Administrative consultation is a service that accepts complaints and opinions ・ from citizens about public administration in general, and provides necessary mediation from a standpoint different from that of the administrative agency in charge, in order to promote the resolution and realization of such complaints and opinions. This promotes the improvement of administrative systems and operations.
The Center can appropriately deal with problems for which it is difficult to know where to consult, or problems involving multiple agencies that require communication and coordination.

As a familiar advisor to everyone, local "administrative advisors" are commissioned by the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications and at least one is assigned in every municipality. They receive consultations on complaints and other matters related to government work, provide advice for their resolution, and contact the relevant agencies without compensation.
